Burglary Investigation
On December 3, 2013 the Ledyard Police Department received the report that a resident had returned to his home located on Shewville Road near the Preston Town line and found items missing. Officers initiated a criminal investigation and determined that the home had been entered between Saturday and Tuesday and multiple items, including electronics, had been stolen. This crime remains under investigation and anyone who may have information is urged to contact the Ledyard Police Department at 860-464-6400.

Larceny/Forgery Arrest
On December 5, 2013 the Ledyard Police Department arrested Benjamin Iliff DOB 02/13/1990 of no certain address on the strength of an arrest warrant. Iiff was charged with 18 counts of Forgery 3rd and 17 counts of Larceny 6th Degree. The charges stem from a Ledyard Police investigation into the theft and forgery of checks from an individual known to Iliff. He will be arraigned at GA 10 in New London on December 20, 2013.

Larceny/Fugitive From Justice Arrest
On December 5, 2013 the Ledyard Police Department responded to the Two Trees Hotel for the report of an individual utilizing a debit card issued to another person. After investigation, the Ledyard Police Department arrested William J. Pisano DOB 12/08/1987 of 522 East 6th street #2 New York, NY and charged him with Larceny 6th Degree. During the course of this investigation it was determined that an arrest warrant existed for Pisano from New York. Due to this, Pisano was also arrested as a Fugitive from Justice for a Grand Larceny warrant from New York. He will be held and presented at GA 10 New London on December 6, 2013.

Arrest related to serious injury accident
On October 31, 2013 at approximately 12:56 am the Ledyard Police Department received the report of a one vehicle versus utility pole crash on Route 214 (Stoddards Warf Road). Along with the Ledyard Police Dept, the Ledyard Fire Department, Gales Ferry Fire Department, Ledyard Volunteer Emergency Squad, American Ambulance Paramedic, and Lawrence and Memorial Paramedic responded. Due to extensive damage to the vehicle, both the driver and passenger had to be extricated by firefighters.

The vehicle operator, Kyle Fox DOB 02/03/1990 of 431 Route 163 lot 4 Uncasville, was transported to the Lawrence & Memorial Hospital with serious injury, and later transferred to Yale New Haven Hospital. The vehicle passenger, Andrew Hernandez DOB 07/09/1989 of 69 Flintlock Road Ledyard, Connecticut, was transported to the Backus Hospital in Norwich.

On December 6, 2013 the vehicle operator, Kyle Fox, turned himself into the Ledyard Police Department after being notified of a warrant for his arrest in connection to this accident. As a result of this investigation, Fox was charged with Assault 2nd with a Motor Vehicle, Operating a Vehicle while Under the Influence, and Reckless Driving. He was released on a $10,000 bond with a court date of 12/20/2013 at GA 10 New London.
