Vehicle Roll Over
On June 4, 2013 at approximately 12:30 a.m. the Ledyard Police Department received multiple 911 calls reporting a one vehicle roll over accident into the brush area located approximately 50 yards off Route 12 near VanTassel Drive in the Gales Ferry section of Ledyard. The vehicle involved was found to be a rental vehicle and the operator fled the scene. The Ledyard Police Department conducted a K9 track utilizing a dog from the Connecticut State Police Troop D in Danielson, but was unable to locate the vehicle operator.

The Ledyard Police Department continues to seek the vehicle operator involved in this crash. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ledyard Police Department at 860-464-6400.

The Gales Ferry Fire Department and Ledyard Volunteer Emergency Squad also responded to the accident.

** UPDATE**
As a result of this investigation, the Ledyard Police Department has made the following arrest. Daniel G. Villarreal DOB 10/11/1988 of 11 Friar Tuck Drive, Gales Ferry was arrested and charged with Evading Responsibility and Failure to Drive Right. He will be arraigned at GA 10 in New London on June 25, 2013.

Evading Accident
On June 9, 2013 at 9:11 p.m. the Ledyard Police Department received the report of a 2-vehicle accident, with injuries, which occurred at the intersection of Route 117 and Route 214. Callers indicated that one of the vehicle involved had fled the scene. Through evidence left at the scene, the Ledyard Police Department was able to locate the vehicle and operator who evaded at their residence.

Investigation of this accident scene revealed that a vehicle traveling northbound on Route 117, operated by Tracey L Traystman DOB 10/28/1972 of 113 Spicer Hill Road Ledyard, Connecticut traveled through a red traffic signal and struck a second vehicle turning left from Route 214 onto Route 117. Traystman then fled the scene. The operator of the second vehicle, Stephanie A Miller DOB 08/07/1993 of 57 N Street Seasside Park, New Jersey, suffered minor injuries and was transported to the WW Backus Hospital in Norwich.

As a result of this investigation, Traystman was arrested and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence, Evading Responsibility, and Failure to Obey Traffic Signal. She was processed and will be presented at GA 10 in New London.

In addition to the Ledyard Police Department, the Ledyard Fire Department, Gales Ferry Fire Department, and Ledyard Volunteer Emergency Squad responded.

Burglary
On June 17, 2013 the Ledyard Police Department received the report of a residential burglary of a home under renovation on Crocker Hill Road. During the course of the burglary copper piping was removed from the home. Anyone who may have information regarding his crime is urged to contact the Ledyard Police Department at 860-464-6400.

Roll Over Accident
On June 25, 2013 at 10:49 p.m. the Ledyard Police Department received the report of a 1-vehicle roll over accident with the possible ejection of the vehicle operator on Inchcliffe Drive at Smith Pond Way in Gales Ferry. Officers from the Ledyard Police Department and Troopers from the Connecticut State Police, along with the Gales Ferry Fire Department, Ledyard Volunteer Emergency Squad, and Lawrence and Memorial Hospital Paramedic responded.

An individual who was ejected from the vehicle was transported to the Lawrence and Memorial Hospital with serious injury and later transferred to Yale New Haven Hospital. The Ledyard Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the accident, along with the report that the vehicle involved in this accident had been involved in an evading accident on Route 12 shortly before the roll over. 1-Vehicle Crash With Fire
On June 26, 2013 at 1:36 a.m. the Ledyard Police Department received the report of a 1-vehicle accident with no injury, and the vehicle on fire Route 214 between Shewville Road and Elizabeth George Drive in Ledyard. Officers from the Ledyard Police Department, along with the Ledyard Fire Department, Gales Ferry Fire Department, Mashantucket Tribal Fire Department, and American Ambulance responded. Responders arrived to find a 2013 Dodge Charger which had traveled off the roadway and was fully involved in fire with the operator out of the vehicle.

Investigation into the cause of the accident led to the arrest of the vehicle operator, Spencer Isaac DOB 02-23-1989 of Hawthorne Drive in New London for the charges of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol and Operating without a license. He was processed given a court date of July 12, 2013 at GA 10 New London.

Disturbance Leading to Stabbing
On June 29, 2013 at approximately 11:51 p.m. the Ledyard Police Department received the report of a disturbance occurring at a large gathering on Wolf Ridge Gap in Ledyard. Responding Officers found numerous people attempting to flee the location and discovered that 3 people had sustained stab wounds. As a result, all 3 individuals were transported to medical facilities via Ledyard Ambulance.

This incident remains under investigation by the Ledyard Police Department and the Connecticut State Police Eastern District Major Crime Squad.
