Vehicle Roll Over
On February 8, 2013 at approximately 2:25 p.m. the Ledyard Police Department received reports of a single vehicle roll over on Center Groton Road (Route 117) near the Groton Town line with injuries. Officers from the Ledyard Police Department, Fire Fighters from the Ledyard Fire Department and Center Groton Fire Department, the Ledyard Volunteer Emergency Squad, and Lawrence and Memorial Hospital Paramedics responded.
As a result of this accident the driver of the vehicle, David E Doucette DOB 10-23-1947 of 13 Marla Avenue in Ledyard, was transported to the Lawrence and Memorial Hospital for injuries. The vehicle passenger, Betty J. Doucette DOB 05-05-1949 of 13 Marla Avenue in Ledyard, was transported to the Lawrence and Memorial Hospital for serious injuries. Also as a result of this accident a CL&P support pole and fire hydrant were damaged.
This accident remains under investigation by the Ledyard Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team. This accident caused Route 117 to remain closed for approximately 1 hour.

On February 26, 2013 at approximately 3:19 a.m. the Ledyard Police Department received reports of a single vehicle roll over on Christy Hill Road at Norman Drive, which had struck and damaged a utility pole. Based upon investigation into this accident the vehicle operator, Christopher Hileman (DOB 09/29/1990) of Vinegar Hill Road in Gales Ferry, Connecticut was arrested for Operating a Vehicle While Under The Influence and Failure to Drive Right. Due to damage from this accident Christy Hill Road remained closed while the utility pole was repaired.
