Stuff-A-Cruiser Event
The Ledyard Police Department in conjunction with StarrWoods Village Market will be teaming up again this year for the Thanksgiving season. Donation bags with non-perishable food items will be available to purchase for $10 dollars at the StarrWoods Village Market. These bags will be collected by members of the Ledyard Police Department and delivered directly to the Ledyard food pantry. A Ledyard Police Cruiser will also be positioned in front of the StarWoods Village Market on Sunday November 11, 2012 from noon to 4 p.m. and again on Thursday November 15 from 2 to 6 p.m.. Help the Ledyard Police Department "Stuff a Cruiser" with the donation bags or other non-perishable food items on these 2 days.
We encourage everyone to team up with the Ledyard Police and StarrWoods Village Market to help make this a true "Thanksgiving " for the less fortunate.
Arrest in Serious Injury Accident
On September 30, 2012 at approximately 0244 hours a head on motor vehicle accident occurred on Route 117 at the Groton Town line, which resulted in serious injuries. On November 19, 2012 the Ledyard Police Department arrested Jennifer A. Macomber DOB 08/01/1980 of 890 Colonel Ledyard Highway in Ledyard on an arrest warrant as a result of its investigation into this accident. Macomber was charged with Assault 2nd with a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of Liquor or Drug and Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drug. Macomber is scheduled to appear at GA 10 in New London on September 20, 2012 for arraignment.
