Ordinances

Definition

An ordinance is a law passed by a municipal government, e.g. the Town of Ledyard. The Town of Ledyard is a political subdivision of Connecticut that was established to provide local government to a population in this area.

Ledyard has more than 100 ordinances which constitute the subject matter of municipal law. The Book of Ordinances is kept in the Clerk's Office for public inspection, and updated as new ordinances are passed by the Town Council. Summaries of these ordinances are published in a local newspaper after their passage.
