Motor Vehicle Arrest
On May 7, 2008, just before 10:30 a.m. the Ledyard Police Department attempting to stop a motor vehicle on Robin Hood Drive in the Gales Ferry section of Ledyard for motor vehicle violations. The vehicle operator sped through the neighborhood, driving across the lawn of a home and then jumped from the moving vehicle. The vehicle continued until it crashed into a tree on the property, while the operator ran into a home. After a short period of time, police were able to remove the man from the home without incident.
Eric J. Snead, 31, of 47 Robinhood Drive, was charged with reckless driving, failure to obey an officer's signal, first-degree reckless endangerment, interfering with an officer and excessive window tinting. He was held on $50,000 bond.
Shooting
On May 13, 2008, just after 2 a.m., the Ledyard Police Department received a 911 call reporting that shots had been fired at Number 15 Jessica Lane in Ledyard. Ledyard Police Officers, along with State Police Troopers from Troop E, responded to the scene. Investigation revealed that shots had been fired at the residence from the outside. Detectives from the Ledyard Police Department Detective Division and Detectives from the Eastern District Major Crime Squad responded to process the crime scene. This investigation continues.
