Motor Vehicle Accident
On April 4, 2008, at approximately 0203 hours the Ledyard Police Department, Gales Ferry Fire Department, and the Ledyard Volunteer Emergency Squad responded to Long Cove Road near Conrad Court for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. A lone occupant of the vehicle was extricated from the vehicle and transported to the L and M Hospital with serious injuries. The Ledyard Police Department Accident Investigation Team and Detective Division responded to assist it's Patrol Division with this investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact Sgt. Sexual Assault Arrest
On April 9, 2008, Ledyard Police Detectives traveled to Worcester District Court in Worcester, Massachusetts, to take custody of Pasqual Maoyola (date of birth January 15, 1963) Dwight Street Apartment 1, Chicopee. Maoyola was being held in Massachusetts as a fugitive from justice pursuant to an arrest warrant held by the Ledyard Police Department. The warrant alleges that between January and April of 2005, Maoyola sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl in the Town of Ledyard. Maoyola was transported to Troop E and charged with the following crimes: sexual assault in the 1st degree, sexual assault in the 4th degree, risk of injury to a minor. Maoyola was held on a $250,000 court set bond and will presented in court at GA 10 New London on April 10, 2008.
Larceny Arrest
On April 11, 2008, the Ledyard Police Department Detective Division served an arrest warrant charging Ms. Cynthia Cross, currently incarcerated at the York Correctional Facility, with Larceny in the 1st degree. This arrest stems from a complaint made by the Ledyard Alumni Association to the Ledyard Police regarding money missing from accounts controlled by CROSS while she was the treasurer of the association. She was presented to the New London Superior court after her arrest.

On April 10, 200,8 at approximately 2:40 p.m., the Ledyard Police Department received the report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries on Pumpkin Hill Road near Deer Lane. On the arrival of the police, along with the Ledyard Fire Department District 1, Ledyard Volunteer Ambulance Squad and the L and M Paramedic, a vehicle was found to have struck a tree and rocks. Trespassing
On April 13, 2008, at approximately 1550 hours, the Ledyard Police Department received the report of a security alarm activation at the Ledyard High School located at Number 24 Gallup Hill Road in Ledyard. Responding Patrol Officers, along with a Police Canine, located 4 youths inside the bomb shelter section of the school. Three juveniles received summons to appear in juvenile court for the charge of Trespass in the 1st degree. A 16-year-old youthful offender was also charged with trespass in the 1st degree. He was released from custody and will appear at GA 10 New London.
