Drug Arrest
On July 22, 2009, at approximately 0209 hours a Ledyard Police Officer stopped a vehicle on Route 12 in Gales Ferry for a motor vehicle violation. Observations made by the Officer during the stop led to the seizure of Marijuana and related paraphernalia within the vehicle. The operator, Patrick Esposito (date of birth October 7, 1990) of 11 Quail Meadow Lane Gales Ferry, Connecticut, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and motor vehicle charges. He was processed and released with a court date for GA 10 in New London.
Motor Vehicle Accident
On October 28, 2009, at 2:35 p.m. the Ledyard Police Department received the report of a 3 car accident having occured on Route 12 in the area of Number 1501. The Gales Ferry Fire Company, Ledyard Fire Co Number 1, Ledyard Volunteer Emergency Sqaud, Submarine Base Ambulance, Groton Ambulance, Poquetanuck Fire Department Ambulance, and the Lawrence and Memorial Hospital Paramedic responded along with Ledyard Police Officers. In total 6 individuals were transported to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. This accident remains under investigation.
